So, Vidmap.
It did not start with a vision. It did not start with a market opportunity.
It started with a personal problem while researching my saas.
A 20-minute Y Combinator YouTube videoHow to get your first customer.2 minutes of actual knowledge. The core idea, the exact thing the thumbnail promised, somewhere in the middle of the intro, the sponsor read, and the extra points covered in the video.
But there was no way around it. To get those 2 minutes, you had to sit through all 20. That was the deal. Non-negotiable. And the cruelest part? You never knew if those 2 minutes were even in there until you had already spent the other 18 finding out.
So you do what every founder learns to do.

Skip to 80%. Watch 20 seconds.
Close the tab.
Tell yourself you will come back to it.
You never do.
That was not a one-time thing.
I tracked my YouTube habit for two weeks. 47 videos opened. 16.5 hours of content. Videos about building a startup, finding customers, growing a product, everything I genuinely needed to learn. I fully watched 3 of them. The rest? Skipped, half-watched, or closed within the first two minutes.
The painful part was not the time I wasted. It was knowing the answers I needed were probably inside those videos, and I had no way to find them without committing to watch every single minute.
I started looking for a fix.
Eightify gave me bullet points. NoteGPT gave me a text summary. Glasp gave me highlights. All of them made me read. None of them gave me the knowledge. I still had to parse through paragraphs of text, figure out which points mattered, and mentally reconstruct how the ideas connected.
It was faster than watching. But it was still work.
And none of them answered the question I actually needed answered before I pressed play:
"Is there anything in here worth my time, and if yes, exactly what is it?"
So I built Vidmap.
